
This is also where the art and science of medicine comes in. I’ve learned to tell my doctor all of my symptoms, whether or not I think they are important. For my most recent progression, I had no new physical symptoms, but the sneaky bastards were proliferating merrily. This is why my doctor scans me regularly and she doesn’t ever relax.

I think you raise a very important point (as always): telling your doctor about all the things you are experiencing even if not obviously linked to cancer. I learned through much unnecessary anxiety that a bizarre problem I was suffering from was actually just a manifestation of my cancer. It is so vital to provide the professionals with all the info and let them sort out that which is not germane.
