Early detection does not actually save lives. Mammograms aren’t always accurate and anyone who thinks they are safe does not understand the whole picture. I, for instance, got my very first mammogram after I felt a lump at age 38. Part of my initial treatment was discovering that I was already Stage IV and had been for some time.
Bottom line, don’t ignore symptoms, take your medication as prescribed, and advocate for appropriate treatment, despite age.
Thank you for this … 42 and was given an initial diagnosis of mbc … and while I know that there’s no point in playing the “should have” game … sometimes it’s hard … but I’ll take a screenshot of today’s message, incase I forget!
So thank you!!
